# Q2 2023 Update 2 By [KulaDAO](https://paragraph.com/@kuladao) · 2023-07-25 --- ### Q2 2023 Update 2 Over the past three months, KulaDAO has made significant progress in technical development, legal footing, and its ICO Marketing drive.   We contracted an experienced blockchain development team to turn the existing codebase into production. The process of working on smart contracts and building out our governance protocol, required by regulation, has been thrilling to observe. We are moving quickly to our first working products as the UI/UX team develops the front end of what KulaDAOers will use daily. Piloting voting at the mine in Zambia has also been tested!   Legally our journey continues to find the jurisdictional home that will welcome and work with KulaDAO. It has been an 18-month process that has seen us talk with regulators and lawyers in over ten countries. What is clear is that the DAO structure is still new. Regulators are still figuring out a home for KulaDAO. The good news is that our first deliberation from Switzerland is back and continues to progress. The legal landscape is ever-changing as lawmakers make new laws, even weekly. More encouragingly, we have found a second jurisdiction option for KulaDAO and put that into full development.  > _We are confident that KulaDAO is well positioned for approval, and the KulaDAO team can even join the discussion in shaping and forming future legal structures._ You may have noticed in recent weeks and months that our marketing has gone to a new level. Our team has been laying the rails for a larger community as KulaDAO heads to launch. We have also contracted a blockchain marketing company to position our content and structural build and train in-house capacity for our long-term success. As we frame our governance structure and form guilds, the KulaDAO community will be well-placed to develop the protocol and see it grow.
