They’re not necessarily bad; however, it’s hard to get what I want out if I start late. Either I need to rush to bed or I put it off until it’s very late. I need to start writing these earlier. Besides that I am enjoying the process. It’s fun to do research, reviews, world build, discuss privacy/security, and put my thoughts onto paper. But man, I need to do these earlier in the day to want to spend the time.ImprovementsI have noticed a few improvements. First, it’s quicker for me to find and write my ideas down. When I have a topic I’m writing about it faster without compromising quality. I’m still finding new ideas as I write and thinking about the topics. It’s helped me feel better about spending less time writing, but I’m curious how it will help when I give myself more time. Second, I’ve noticed I’m getting a little better at choosing words. At the start, I just needed words so I didn’t think too much about word choice. As I’ve been writing more, I’ve noticed words I tend to repeat or don’t quick describe what I mean. This is the first time I’ve noticed that being picky about word choice improving my ability to think about a topic. The most recent example being the use of monitoring for the sake of privacy. (I really should write about that more this week).Ideas to helpI want to brainstorm some ideas that could help me spend more, quality time writing:Begin writing earlier in the day - I won’t feel the end of day fatigueGive myself a reward for writing - If it’s just a chore, there can be less excitement to do it. Especially before bed, I think part of the reason I’m procrastinating it is that it means it’s bed timeTime myself / reflect on the writing - Creating ways to measure writing can help shed light on trends. Plus, I’ve often said “this will be quick” and take more time than expectedImprove my goals - The novelty of writing every day is wearing off a little. Finding other goals can help motivate mePlan some articles to share with people - Those articles I won’t want to half ass and I’ll need to find timePreemptively think about the topics - A lot of the excitement comes from wanting to think about a particular topic. It can be more exciting to jump into a topic rather than think about a topic.Hey look it’s been around 30 minutes. I really do need to give myself time and start writing. Nighy y’all, Lucas ## Publication Information - [ldnovak](https://paragraph.com/@ldnovak/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@ldnovak/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@ldnovak): Subscribe to updates
