# Tiny Bytes: Week 2 Reflection **Published by:** [ldnovak](https://paragraph.com/@ldnovak/) **Published on:** 2022-07-05 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@ldnovak/tiny-bytes-week-2-reflection ## Content Hi again, It's officially been 2 weeks of writing! LET US GO! Like last week, I want to discuss how the week went and my feelings about it.Week In GeneralThis week, I played around with a couple ideas. First, I tried making my ideas shorter. By making the post's topic more focused and less grand, I could finish writing in that hour. I've also noticed that I'm getting a little better at being concise and having an easier time coming up with sentences that summarize topics better. I'm still overestimating how long different ideas will take. A good example showing improvement and overestimating is that post yesterday. I wanted to define security. The decision to narrow the focus meant I could define security and didn't leave a bunch of threads hanging. It still took a little over an hour to write the post, I didn't have time to edit, and I wanted to talk about why it is important. Second, I played around with diving into a topic over multiple posts. This week I looked into making abortions private. This approach is definitely good when I want to research something -- basically, it turns into me taking notes on what I find. It also allows me to sleep on ideas and have my subconscious do some work. There is a bit of a startup lag when I need to remember what I wanted to do yesterday. I can also see myself being forced into a topic having the ability to harsh my mellow if I want to write about something else. Overall like it as an option to do.FeelingI am mostly feeling good. I can feel myself getting more comfortable writing these. It makes me feel accomplished when I write something. I like the feeling of discovering new ideas while writing. I don't always know what to do with these ideas. Sometimes they fit the flow of the topic, and I can add them. Other times, they would make quality, unrelated stories, or I don't give myself enough space to add them to the post. (I should find a way to keep track). The only negative is the time. Because I'm posting daily, I need to be extra mindful to find time to write. I nearly forgot the other day when I made the Haiku. Several nights, I wanted to play a game or spend time with Julianne but realized I needed to write. Even 1 hour can mess up timings. I feel like I should treat this like I do exercise. Try to get it done early if I see an opportunity. Pretend there's a gym closing time to ensure I don't procrastinate too late. And, in the evenings, when something more important comes up, find some way to at least do something.Take-AwaysContinue to keep trying to narrow down the topicFind topics to do research on and treat those days as note daysEach week try to have at least 1 day where I explain something technical, and 1 day that is a movie/show reviewTry to get writing done earlier in the dayFind a way to keep track of new ideas that spawn. Maybe even ideas I'm writing about in generalGood luck to me next week, Lucas ## Publication Information - [ldnovak](https://paragraph.com/@ldnovak/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@ldnovak/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@ldnovak): Subscribe to updates
