# Survive in Crypto? Think Like an Astronomer

*Ever notice how meme coins burn bright and fade like dying planets, while the ecosystems they launch on keep powering on like stars? There's a reason for that, and it's written in the cosmos.*

Here's the Thing About Stars
----------------------------

They don't give a damn about what orbits them. They just keep fusing hydrogen, pumping out energy, and doing their thing. For billions of years. No hype needed. Sound familiar? That's your crypto launchpad – steady fees, consistent service, powering an entire ecosystem of tokens whether they succeed or fail.

And Those Meme Coins? They're Just Planets
------------------------------------------

Hot take: Your favorite meme coin is basically Jupiter – born hot, looking flashy, but cooling down by the minute. Here's what happens:

* Planets form in a blaze of heat and chaos (your meme coin's launch)

* They shine bright with borrowed energy (hello, initial hype and FOMO)

* Then they slowly, inevitably cool down (watch that trading volume drop)

No matter how many rocket emojis you throw at them, planets can't generate their own heat. Just like meme coins can't generate their own value without constant external hype.

Don't get me wrong - there's a lot of fun, excitement and potential profit with trading casual meme coins. It becomes a cultural thing, and the way things evolve - The memetic of EVERYTHING is inevitable

I call it internet coins

thesis is simple:

imagine something like [@theallinpod](https://twitter.com/theallinpod) who have followers on X, subscribers on YT, etc. They produce content, have a community with a specific demographic following them, whom even occasionally are willing to pay for the offsite few Gs.…

I agree with this in the current dynamics but I think we may be moving towards a world where the proliferation of content changes that

eg if you release 1-10 memecoins and the goal is to make money, I think that's almost certainly negative EV

but if we move towards a world…

The Cosmic Truth About Crypto
-----------------------------

Stars last billions of years. Planets? They're just along for the ride, getting colder by the century. In crypto terms:

Launchpads = Stars (actually, you can also think of the grand ecosystem beyond it, but that's for another piece)

* Generate their own value through fees and services

* Keep running regardless of market hype

*   Actually power the ecosystem

Meme Coins = Planets

* Run on initial formation energy (launch hype)

* Gradually lose heat (community interest)

* Depend entirely on external energy

The Astronomical Investment Strategy
------------------------------------

Want to play the long game? Stop chasing planets. Back the stars.

Think about it – would you rather bet on:

* The thing that powers an entire system

* Or the thing that needs constant energy injections to stay relevant?

The cosmic flex isn't catching a falling star – it's becoming one.

If you followed the recent memecoin craze on Base, you'd notice there are thousand of launched meme coins on Clanker. but there's only one Clanker, the deploying bot. the heart and soul of the ecosystem around it.

Bottom Line
-----------

Energy sources matter. Stick with the bodies that generate their own heat, and let the planets do their cosmic dance around you. Remember: Stars don't chase planets. Planets chase stars. Choose your position in the crypto universe accordingly.
