# Scroll Alpha Testnet

What is Scroll?
---------------

Scroll is a zkEVM-based zk rollup that provides native compatibility for existing applications and tools on Ethereum. In simple words, this project is a fairly large L2 Ethereum scaling solution that uses zk-rollups.

News broke yesterday that Scroll had raised $50 million at a valuation of $1.8 billion, and investors included funds such as Polychain Capital, Sequoia and others. The bottom line is that Scroll's alpha test was launched just recently, so it's definitely worth taking advantage of it, in the hope of a likely airdrop.

I want to share with you a simple route for successfully completing Scroll Alpha Testnet. I have prepared a video and text description (you can find it below):

Text Description

These are a few steps:

1.  Visit the official website:
    
    [https://scroll.io/alpha](https://scroll.io/alpha)
    
    Connect and approve the networks
    

\- Layer 1 - Goerli Testnet - Layer 2 Scroll Alpha Testnet

2.  Go to faucet and claim ETH for Goerli testnet network:
    
    [goerlifaucet.com](http://goerlifaucet.com)
    
3.  Go to official bridge and transfer ETH to Scroll Alpha Testnet
    
    [https://scroll.io/alpha/bridge](https://scroll.io/alpha/bridge)
    
4.  Join Scroll Guild
    
    [https://guild.xyz/scrollzkp](https://guild.xyz/scrollzkp)
    
5.  Once we have the assets, we need to make swaps and create LP pairs using Uniswap:

    You can use my token for swap (I deployed it specifically for this Alpha Testnet)
    
    Liquidfame (LF) - 0x94430BCbaA9E19086eabc16575Ae07bbeBE794b1
    
    You will need to manually add it to [Uniswap](https://uniswap-v3.scroll.io/#/swap), add some Test ETH to Liquidity and do some swaps.
    
    OR you can create your own token by following these steps
    
6.  The last step is to output your ETH from Scroll Alpha Testnet to Goerli testnet using a bridge (same process):

    If you want to use your own token
    ---------------------------------
    
    1.  Visit [Contracts Wizard](https://docs.openzeppelin.com/contracts/4.x/wizard) and create a template for your own token. You just need to enter the name, ticker and amount of the token. After that you should copy the code
        
    2.  Visit [Remix Ethereum](https://remix.ethereum.org/)
        
        \- create new file (you may call it as same as your token) - input your code - go to Solidity complier section and Compile the contract - go to Deploy section and choose Metamask for Environment - start Deploy
        
        After these steps you will be able to receive the address for your token and use it on [Uniswap](https://uniswap-v3.scroll.io/#/swap)
