Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, commemorates June 19, 1865 when Union Army Major General Gordon Granger is credited for informing the last of the enslaved citizens that they had indeed been emancipated by then President Abraham Lincoln. At this year’s celebration, teams like KAOS Network, and Los Dao have come together to usher a new era of emancipation to the African American community. On June 19, 2022 members of the Leimert Park community will come together to both celebrate the past, and step into the future. This year’s celebration will bring something old and something new. Entrepreneurs will sell their goods and services. Artists will offer their work and talents. Community leaders will create collaboration and engagement. Black technologists will help community members bridge the digital divide with educational opportunities. Black cryptocurrency advocates will help attendees onboard their first crypto wallets. Black artists will make NFT’s available to participants who are ready for the new economy.Thank You Kaos NetworkCommunity leaders like Darra Caldwell-Ross, Ben Caldwell Camille Brown, and Mario Jefferson are working together to make this Juneteenth celebration like none before it.
