Computer Science is the study of computers and computational systems. Unlike electrical and computer engineers, computer scientists focus mainly on software and software systems; this includes their theory, design, development, and application. Principal areas of study within Computer Science include artificial intelligence, systems and networks, security, database systems, human-computer interaction, vision and graphics, numerical analysis, programming languages, software engineering, bioinformatics, and computing theory. Students in this field learn how to solve complex problems by developing algorithms, coding, and understanding computer architecture. They also study the impact of computing on society and ethical considerations in technology development. Graduates often work as software developers, systems analysts, IT consultants, and in various other technology-driven roles.
