# LumArt - Day 1

Being an independent artist has never been easy, and AI hasn’t made it any simpler. For every new tool that opens a door, the market gets noisier, faster, and harder to navigate.

**LumArt** is an experiment in changing that. It’s a space for AI artists to mint their work, get rewarded directly, and align together as a part of a collective. Think of it as a creative co-op powered by mint mechanics: you mint from your own contract, keep most of the ETH, and benefit when the collective does well.

### **Why LumArt?**

LumArt is built on the belief that **a group of aligned artists can do more together than by going it alone**.

The idea:

*   Artists keep most ETH from their mints, minting from their own contract.
    
*   Winners earn membership, bonus ETH, + long-term $LUM alignment
    
*   Consistent contributors can also earn membership and perks, even if they haven’t won a contest yet.
    
*   Collector benefits.

### **How week 1 works:**

*   Mint a 1-week open edition [on Highlight](https://highlight.xyz/)
    
    *   Can be any form of AI art, on any subject.
        
    *   But if you want a topic, you can explore ideas around $lum, AI, luminosity, etc.
        
*   Share 30% or more with this address: 0x7da768Cd9a30Edbb5Aff21F14d99a2532aBF1Dfa
    
    *   Swaps to $lum 
        
    *   And goes to the LumArt pool, which will be used for rewards
        
*   Winning artists earn bonus ETH and long-term $LUM alignment (vesting $lum)
    
*   Consistent participation may be eligible to earn points toward artist membership (even without “winning” yet)
    
*   Collectors may be eligible to earn points/benefits too—for supporting the LumArt ecosystem  
      
    

If LumArt works, artists will earn more here over time than they would minting solo, and the collective will become a dynamic place for AI artists to support one another, and bring up newer artists.
