Dear LXDAO community friends! Welcome to our 112th weekly report.

**1\. Welcome New Friends**
===========================

* **Skysys**: Hello everyone, I’m Skysys, currently a graduate student. My interests include blockchain-related research, especially on-chain data analysis and ZK (zero-knowledge proof) as well as related cryptographic research. I got to know LXDAO through the ZK co-learning activities. I hope to meet more friends in the Web3 field at LXDAO. Thank you all.

* **Zedz**: Hello everyone, I’m Zedz. After finding a name conflict on the forum, I added a z5 to my username. I got to know LXDAO through participating in offline activities organized by LXDAO and Changsha DAO. I was very happy to join after I came across the self-study link for Web3 URL. Previously, I learned some blockchain knowledge on Bilibili and became very interested in Web3. After joining the intensive co-learning, I feel like I’ve entered a new world of Web3 and hope to contribute to LXDAO. I have experience as a Java programmer, and I know some design, drawing, and bookkeeping. I look forward to exchanging ideas with everyone.

* **Alex**: Good morning, I’m Alex, currently a computer science student. I previously worked on Go backend development but have been involved in Web3 for more than a year, participating in Ethereum's AA wallet and some SocialFi-related products. I'm very happy to join LXDAO this time and participate in some interesting and meaningful projects, like the ZK intensive co-learning.

* **Lin Yang**: Hello everyone, I’m Lin Yang, based in Tokyo. I entered the Web3 field in 2017 and have consecutively developed several products, including staking pools and NFT marketplaces. I also provide consulting and incubation for projects in Japan, helping them with user growth and offline activities. Currently, I’m mainly engaged in consulting and customizing products for Web3 projects. I’m developing a Telegram mini-program and a staking platform, expected to launch in August.

* **Ljy**: Hello everyone, I’m Ljy. I have been working for two years, doing frontend development. I started learning Web3 around March or April last year, learning intermittently. I noticed this organization through the ZK intensive co-learning channel and now actively communicate and learn ZK with everyone in the group. That’s about it, thank you all.

* **Guan Guan**: Hello everyone, I’m Guan Guan. I’m a friend of Cikey from QSpace in Hangzhou. I have done many jobs before, including self-media. Now I have three jobs: a housekeeper for digital nomads, an IELTS speaking teacher, and operating an overseas project. I am very interested in the intensive co-learning. Cikey introduced LXDAO to us in detail when we were at QSpace, and today I finally have the opportunity to learn more about it together.

We are delighted to have new friends join the community, congratulations on them officially becoming members of the LXDAO community and obtaining their first Badge!

Once a community member’s contribution reaches 500 contribution points, the Governance Group will automatically initiate a proposal for the issuance of a Buidler Card. Holding an LXDAO Buidler Card grants the holder the right to propose and vote on proposals, as well as access to LXDAO community’s financial, technical, and manpower support!

[**Why Web3, DAO, and Public Goods? Exploring Core Values and Challenges**](https://forum.lxdao.io/t/why-buidl-in-web3-why-buidl-in-dao-why-support-public-goods/1954)

Cikey posted on the forum, raising a series of questions about Web3, DAO, and public goods, aiming to explore the core values and practical applications in these fields. She mentioned that many newcomers often ask why they should build in Web3 and what real-world problems it solves. Cikey plans to initiate a series of "Why" themed activities covering topics such as public goods, DeFi, privacy and security, and regulatory challenges, to discuss the values and challenges behind these questions. She also pointed out that Web3 beginners might face cultural or technical adaptation issues, and whether the sustainable development of public goods can truly drive practical progress. Cikey encourages those interested and with research experience to contact her to jointly explore these questions.

[LXDAO in EDCON Tokyo: StC Event Recap](https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/6w7sgtupceDUVmQMLq6mfA)

On July 26, 2024, the “Supporting the Commons” event, co-hosted by LXDAO and Mask, successfully concluded at EDCON in Tokyo. The event attracted over 40 Web3 enthusiasts and aimed to explore the sustainable development of public goods, providing a platform for communication and collaboration. The core idea of the event was to ensure the continuous development and operation of public goods projects after receiving funding, by reducing communication barriers and promoting information exchange, thus advancing the entire lifecycle of public goods development. In the future, Supporting the Commons plans to host side events at multiple activities, discussing topics such as the development, application, and policy challenges of public goods. The event invited several core builders from different communities and organizations to share their experiences and insights, covering topics like funding support for public goods, open-source software, community-driven technological innovation, and DAO support for public goods. LXDAO & Mask expressed their gratitude to all partners who participated in and supported this event and look forward to continuing to contribute to the sustainable development of public goods in future events.
