# Idea: Captable for SideProjects

Typically people treat side project as a one-off collaboration for fun and fame. What if we built side projects more intentionally and treated it as a mini-startup?

We could use an “informal” captable to list all owners of the side project along with their percentage ownership based on their contributions. If and when the project makes money, the upside can be shared among all contributors based on their ownership.

Things change, contributors drop off, the side project dies, or unexpectedly takes off. The captable can be updated accordingly (with consensus of the owners) to reflect these changes.

Needless to say a token treasury on blockchain (e.g. ERC-20 on ethereum or SPL token on Solana) seems like the right choice for the bookkeeping (and possibly disbursements).
