Team Updates ------------ First off we’d like to welcome [Poppy](https://twitter.com/poppypunky) and [Retroquility](https://twitter.com/retroquility) to the team! Retro will be helping out with business development and the creation of the Whiskers game, while Poppy is joining the moderator team. We’ve been working tirelessly since the beginning to build out a solid team and are super lucky to have them on board. Whiskers: The Game ------------------ One of the things we’re most excited to be working on is _Whiskers: The Game_ (name pending)! It’s been Rico and the teams’ aspiration for a while to create some kind of _tangible_ game that holders can really resonate with. This would incorporate the lore of Whiskers thus far, alongside countless other story elements not yet revealed. It would pair storytelling, world building and the sense of ownership that comes with holding a Whiskers NFT. Currently, we are in the early stages of research and development. Rico and Retroquility have been reaching out to industry experts to flesh out the details of how we’re going to build out the game. We believe that the research stage sets the foundation to what we’re going to build, so taking time to talk to these experts is a crucial first step in building out an amazing game for our holders. ![Board games, card games, Whiskers!?](https://storage.googleapis.com/papyrus_images/3a4298f9024139b2b03a73c1fbc9d9b675e70d3244a0b4f517ee6a97292d8f29.png) Board games, card games, Whiskers!? In the Discord -------------- As you might have noticed, some changes have been going on in our Discord! We’ve consolidated some channels so that everyone has a more centralized space to socialize with fellow holders and the team. As the Discord has calmed down post mint, we’re excited to get to know our holders on a more personal level, so don’t be afraid to chat with us! Recently, we’ve also temporarily welcomed [JonHQ](https://twitter.com/Jon_HQ) into our Great Pond to do a Discord security audit. With all the scams and hacks going on in web3, we felt it was important to bring Jon in to make sure we’re running a tight ship. And last but not least, we’ve implemented a new verification bot, **Whop Bot**, that allows us to have tiered holder roles (You might’ve seen this bot also used by Karafuru, the Nano Ecosystem, Starcatchers and the littles). With this, you are now able to claim new _Whisker owner roles_. We wanted to do this so we could give our bigger supporters some way of distinguishing themselves and also more entries into any giveaways we host. Community --------- We have been loving reading the lore you have been coming up with to accompany your Whiskers. This week we will Kick off our first Whiskers Lore Competition. Pick one of your Whiskers, give them a name, write a little story about their life or some adventure they have found themselves on in _The Great Pond_. We will be picking one winner per week who will be granted a Whisker from the vault! Along with that, every _Wednesday_ we will be featuring a community members’ Whisker and lore on our official twitter account. Check out our Discord for more details on how to enter. With the last week, we’ve also kickstarted our first _Whiskers at the Round Table_ spaces, hosted by [MustacheDave](https://twitter.com/mustachedave)! Each Wednesday we will be bringing in someone new to discuss all things web3. We will be collaborating with some friends from other projects to co-host a holders event so that we can all hang out IRL! From the Old Wizard (Rico’s Updates) ------------------------------------ Besides my daily work on the R&D of the _Whiskers Game_ (along with the other things required of a founder), I’ve been keeping busy networking, lining up distributors for potential merch, and scouring the world for lawyers/bookkeepers to ensure that there is nothing missed in _The Great Pond._ I’ve also been working with [**Patrick**](https://twitter.com/pscarlyle) to get the trait lore written up and that should be coming very _very_ soon! I’m super excited for you all to read it. In addition to that, Winnie & I are also working on getting an official Whiskers world map done and I can’t wait for you all to see it!
