It is the thought that excites the Sci-Fi people the most. Transcending Biology has been one of the key aspects in the development of every Invention and innovation Humans have done so far, whether they acknowledge it or not.

* We were not able to plough our lands with our muscle strength, so we made ploughing devices that could harness the power of other animals.

* We were not able to remember tasks, so we made to-do lists and reminder systems.

* We might see them as mere tools, but these things do help us get better at tasks we were originally bad at.

Now that One can recognize the attempts to get ahead of our mere biology that had been done in the past, here are some ways we could break the bounds and leave human Cognition far behind.

* Simulation: Uploading the Human mind and simulating it on a Turing machine can give a tremendous boost to our ability of Information processing. Computer circuits are a million times faster than our Neurons, so it basically makes sense to the human brain.

* Life 3.0 is the name suggested by Max Tegmark in his Book \[\[Life 3.0\]\] .

    * One of the main concepts is that Human 1.0 was the time of humans who were neither able to change their software nor their Hardware.

        * A big part of the book revolves around the idea of our ability to be better than who we are whether it be with AI or Human compassion.

            * Life 1.0 - The stage of Humans when they were neither able to change their software(aka mind) nor their Hardware(aka body). They were constrained to what they were born with.

            * Life 2.0 - When Humans are able to change their software or way of thinking to some extent by building systems like second brain and books. This approach is working well for us right now and has helped us advance the Human race to levels that were never thought to be possible. But this approach has its own limitations, which can only be solved by changes to the Human body or society on a large scale.

            * Life 3.0 - The future when humans have built technology advanced enough that could merge with Humans. At this stage, Humans can change both their hardware and their software, leading to superhuman capabilities. When some people imagine this future, they think of Cyborgs on earth that is a wasteland now, but what if it turns out to be [Solarpunk](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solarpunk#:~:text=Solarpunk%20is%20a%20genre%20and,sustainability%2C%20climate%20change%20and%20pollution.)?

    * Humanity 2.0 is the society as we know it, where we are able to change our brains by learning new things from books and adding tiny bits of tech inside in the form of Bio-trackers and pacemakers.

    * Humanity 3.0 are the Humans of the future when we have built safe technology that we could merge with Higher Intelligences and even other Human Consciousness's.

* Merging with an AGI: This might be one of the most effective ways to increase our intelligence beyond a Normal human' . This has many cool prospects. Will add more stuff as I read on.

    * Confusion - Do we only want the cognitive capabilities of superintelligence, or do we like having the combination of experiences that intelligence had cultivated over time.

* Brain-computer Interfaces- Implanting Chips in our heads that could help us connect to other minds or archives of information could change the way education works, we will be able to pull any resource we want without any external device, and memorization of things will be meaningless.

A cool idea I heard from Ben Goertzel - we could be living in a higher-dimensional space and not even know about it, as our brain is not able to comprehend it. Our brain can not visualize space more than 3 dimensions. [SIPI - Search for Infra Particle Intelligence](https://profhugodegaris.wordpress.com/sipi/)

When one talks about this subject, one kind of people are always at the forefront bragging about their ideas - Transhumanists. But helping us make ourselves better is more than brain chips and sci-fi stuff. It defines our nature as a human species. Do we like getting better at things and activities we are not able or do we leave it to either evolution or extinction? But do we really know the consequences of all the things we could be able to Human body?

PS: Thank you, dear reader, for reading till the end. it’s you who gives me hope to keep writing. If you wanna show a gesture of encouragement, [you could buy me a book because books are the places where I find most of my ideas - here](https://www.buymeacoffee.com/madhavgoyal)
