# Is crypto dead? By [MadMaxx](https://paragraph.com/@madmaxx) ยท 2022-05-23 --- Crypto seems to be imploding on itself, with the crash of LUNA, the impending regulations and charts that look like paintings of hills. This won't be the first time coins have crashed this badly, but it would be the first time they have done so without any real reason. The point remains that people have lost and are still losing a lot of money. Record amounts even. This begs the question: "Is crypto dead?" Now, I'm no financial analyst, and I don't know exactly what's going on. But I know that the outside world is feeling the brunt as well, not just crypto. And I know one more important thing: Everything is at a discount now. How long will this discount last? No one knows for sure. But everything is at a discount. Taking a gander at the top 200 coins on CoinMarketCap will show you a sea of valleys, which is a good thing, depending on where you're standing. For me, I was caught with my pants down, with barely any money to buy the dips as I was away from crypto for a while. This was both a good and a bad thing. Good in the sense that I wasn't using money to buy coins before they had fully settled (for instance, I would have gone in heavily on LUNA at sub $0.5, and would have suffered immense losses). Bad in the sense that I literally have less than $3000 to buy dips with, which definitely isn't enough to make life-changing gains back up. I can say this with 100% certainty: We will see old ATHs again. Quote me on this, as I have a public history of being right with these kinds of things. It's only a matter of "when". When should you start buying then? To answer this question, we must first do a tiny bit of TA. BTC is currently experiencing a bearish retest of support-turned-resistance. This is usually a tell-tale sign of more downside to come. BTC is almost certainly going down again. With the current world crisis, it's a given at this point. This means that there's a lot of time to research what you want to buy right now, and slowly enter it as BTC gives you more opportunities. I can't tell you what to buy, when to buy, or how to buy. In fact, I can't tell you anything about what you want to buy lol. But I can tell you that you WILL see it at a much lower price than what it's currently trading at today. What you do with this information is up to you. What am I doing? As I told you I can't tell you what to buy, but I can certainly tell you what I'm going to buy, and what I'm going to do. What I'm accumulating (I DCA myself, and I recommend you do too!) 1. Privacy coins These didn't have a chance to run as much as they should have, and I feel with all the current privacy concerns in crypto, they will run fairly well. One of my holdings is even up 5% on the daily in this bloodbath, so I can say for sure that privacy coins will have their time. 1. DeFi stuff DeFi was and still is a game-changer. That won't change anytime soon, so I am currently accumulating DeFi tokens as well. You can choose your favourite ones! 1. Top 200 on CMC and Gecko I researched ALL the coins on the top 200 list (100-200) on Coingecko and CoinMarketCap, and came up with a detailed report on which ones I want to buy and why. I feel you should do the same, as success is majorly hard work! Doing this will expose you to mid-tier, mid-cap coins that have a high probability to go vertical. I learned how to code during the 2020 pandemic, and I will primarily use my skills to build a world-class business. I won't give details on anything right now, but I can guarantee it would be a game-changer once it launches! Bear markets are the perfect time to build world-changing products, and this one is no exception.
