The mirror in the man’s house was broken.

It talked too much.

He hadn’t spent much time with it before.But ever since he lost one of his eyes,the mirror started speaking to him—every single day.

Blunt.

Unfiltered.

It spoke of the tangled beard.

The bloodshot eye.

The deep shadows under the socket.

Dark.

Like the man’s luck.

One day, he buried his head in his hands.

Closed his eye.And shattered the mirror with a single blow.

But the voice didn’t stop.

It grew louder.

As loud as every broken piece of it.
