Change. A sudden event. that spun the man's life off its course. Lifted him up,then slammed him down—so hard,he could never be the same again. Even the smallest things became unbearable. Even home,once the safest place,felt like a cage. Leaving it was a decision that weighed like stone. But he needed air. The hallway. Beyond the table. The path to the door. A brown shoe rack stood beside the exit. He moved toward it— but suddenly, a cry burst from him. His left pinky toe had struck the table leg. Truly, change had turned his life upside down.
