The picture is an excellent representation of the ethos of the community in which rollups will scale, and transactions by end users will happen on rollups, not Ethereum. We can already see the shift. The details were released as a [blog](https://blog.oplabs.co/decentralization-roadmap/) titled “Optimism’s Path to Technical Decentralization.” Layer 2s have received a lot of [criticism](https://blog.altlayer.io/the-importance-of-decentralized-sequencing-9492430821e2) for not being decentralized enough. The details shared in the blog indicate that Optimism takes this criticism seriously and has a roadmap to address the concerns.
