This page will be a repository for each installment in a series: minimal chain pairs. This series is a collection of pieces blending art, words, and understanding, playing with linguistic theory: a 'minimal pair', in linguistics, refers to two words that are exactly the same except for one sound. Applying that concept at the semantic level, we can contrast words that are almost-synonyms, that together describe an entire concept, but contrast at their lowest, most technical definition, in ways that give shape to the larger idea. The goal of the project is to create a series of educational resources that tell the story and explain the technology of web3.Think of it like diving into a word cloud and finding out that even if, from the outside it looks nebulous and random, from the inside it’s got an intricate structure with history and, sometimes, logic. Each installment in this series will be available for collection under the project name “minimal chain pairs”. This isn’t meant as a moneymaking or value extraction-driven project; the point of the NFTs is to crystallize these definitions at a particular point in block history, so that over time, as definitions change and new technology expands the space of some, links can be built between them. This project seeks to create a space between visual art, terminology and dictionaries, the crypto community, and the ledger we share between us. Collect the NFTs if you like them, if you want to have them close at hand to show to people and explain concepts, or if you want to be part of the community of people interested in education and explanation of our tech. This page will be updated with each new installment. https://opensea.io/assets/ethereum/0x495f947276749ce646f68ac8c248420045cb7b5e/19975651266212199019385409144272247600573122793931042754299629294147499721217 ## Publication Information - [Oliver JL Renwick](https://paragraph.com/@mapachurro/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@mapachurro/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@mapachurro): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/mapachurro): Follow on Twitter
