I wrote a note to my heart  
a reminder to feel  
after being sedated by endless cups of social lubricants  
caressing tongues  
with the smooth taste  
of intoxication  
the heart forgot how to feel

Society, drunk  
with crisis  
drowning logic  
with to-do lists  
all everyone wants to do is disconnect  
dance to the beat of irresponsibility  
fornicate the pain away  
mental and physical  
bodies stripped naked by the bare necessities

Go ahead prompt me I am the original intelligence  
there’s nothing artificial about me my face has lines  
where my cigarette puffs reside I don’t wear sunscreen  
and my wrinkled smile shows  
I asked you to prompt me…  
poke your fingers in the holes of my conversation  
I will reply with a truth so naked  
it seduces a conversation  
prompt me with questions that corner my thoughts  
and squeeze nothing but reality  
botox-ed with emotions  
so raw,  
you’d feel the sweat drops  
from the passion within

Prompt me with your worst I will reply with my insecurities  
and fears  
my sickness and desires my sick desires  
my emotional damage my damaged emotions

Prompt me with your best and watch me twirl you into a poem  
stir you like a tornado into a flower storm  
of peace of mind  
peace or just  
a mind…  
oh wow, it’s been a while I haven’t met a mind …

Prompt me,  
be bold I fall for courage  
I also fall for  
“I don’t know’s”  
now that’s another story  
for another day

As of now,  
snap back  
lower your corporate glasses  
put your hand on your chest  
I bet you can’t prompt that beat
