It is a very important element that complements the process of creating any product. It is the designer who turns the idea of a product into reality. There are three key figures involved in the product creation process:The marketer comes up with the product idea and describes its features and benefits. The designer creates the visual embodiment of this idea and makes the product appealing. The project manager is responsible for the practical implementation of the concept.Without design, a product risks being inconvenient to use, unattractive to the consumer, and losing out to competitors. Engineers and technologists can create a functional product, but it is the designer who makes it beautiful, ergonomic, and desirable to the buyer. If a product is created without the participation of a designer, marketers generate ideas blindly, not imagining how they will look in reality. And managers and technologists try to bring these abstract ideas to life without having a clear visual image. The result is a product that lacks integrity and harmony and does not bring pleasure to the consumer. The designer occupies a key position in the product development process. They act as a link between the marketing department that generates ideas and the production team that brings those ideas to reality. Marketers set the goal of what the product should be like in order to interest the target audience. The designer translates these abstract requirements into the language of shapes, colors, and materials. They create an attractive and functional image of the product. Then the designer works with engineers and technologists (project manager) to implement their design, taking into account technical capabilities and limitations. They defend their vision of the product but also find compromises so that the idea can be realized in practice. At all stages, the designer maintains communication between the various specialists involved in the project, ensuring its integrity and coherence. Without the designer, cross-functional interaction would be difficult, and the result would lack completeness. ## Publication Information - [Mark Levandovsky](https://paragraph.com/@mark-levandovsky/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@mark-levandovsky/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@mark-levandovsky): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/mlevandovskiy): Follow on Twitter
