I have neither fate nor will,

Only hope remains:

The hope of returning to my country once more,

To look once again at my native country,

To look once more at the blue Dnipro River.

To live or die there, I don't care;

To look once more at the steppe, the graves,

To recall the last of my fervent thoughts...

I have no fate, no will,

Only hope remains.
