# Creating a Web3 Portfolio

A new version of the web means I should consider a new version of my portfolio (Mattheweastman.com) and find chances to expand my body of work. This entry is a brainstorming exercise to organize my thoughts and action items.

### Define Who I am → Who I want to be

I am a Web 1.0 Native with 10+ years of work experience in Web 2.0 Startups and enterprise web and marketing teams. A solid hybrid background in UX and front-end prototyping has provided the flexibility I wanted in the last 10 years. I focused heavily on learning the tools in this phase.

I want to lead or own the next 10 years of my career path (as well as hobby projects) in the same way Web3’s creed wants us all to be owners. I want to understand the development toolsets to be able to interact with and deploy developers for my projects. I see myself creating a design portfolio and focusing on prototypes as I did in my 2.0 phase. I want to focus more on the broader opportunity in web3 and become a leader in the space.

### What am I good at and bad at

*   **Use my Strengths**
    
    *   Quick learner – learning and finding the nuggets – innovation and prototyping
        
    *   Prototyping – Designing and showcasing my ideas
        
    *   Strategist – Marketing strategy and understanding of technical
        
*   **I’m not good at**
    
    *   Not a full-blown developer, don’t get caught in weeds
        
    *   Not a Visual Designer, Focus on UX and product prototyping

*   Build a body of design work in the metaverse (horizon) both professional and hobby projects
