# .x Domains **Published by:** [Meta East](https://paragraph.com/@mattheweastman/) **Published on:** 2022-07-16 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@mattheweastman/x-domains ## Content I help a friend with his 2.0 website at Clearshowerxl.com so I thought I would go ahead and reserve some web3 domains for him. The .x is under the unstoppable domains company and is built off the polygon network. I also ended up buying my name as well. I like the .x because its clean. Now I also have mattheweastman.eth as wellThis was much cheaper than ENS domains. With my .eth domain, I made a few super costly mistakes.. whereas the mistakes on the polygon network only cost me a buck or two.I was able to mint these .x domains easily on the polygon blockchain.sAs far as launching a website on this protocol.. I think we are still a bit early for all that. I followed the website instructions to publish a simple html page on the blockchain.https://support.unstoppabledomains.com/support/solutions/articles/48001186078-add-an-ipfs-hash-to-your-domain Then went to add a redirect from your normal domain to this domain. https://support.unstoppabledomains.com/support/solutions/articles/48001185919-redirect-to-traditional-domain It never really worked for me until later I figured out you need to have this extension to see .x domains. So this leads me to believe we just aren’t there yet with UX and blockchain-enabled browsers. https://unstoppabledomains.com/extension anyway.. maybe we will use this in the future QmNurkrTkEnjDQt7oACneAi9NhoRyJMerHVf2mJsY1DHoWs ## Publication Information - [Meta East](https://paragraph.com/@mattheweastman/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@mattheweastman/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@mattheweastman): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/meta_east): Follow on Twitter
