# DAO Works **Published by:** [Meta Novelist](https://paragraph.com/@meta-novelist/) **Published on:** 2022-12-14 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@meta-novelist/dao-works ## Content Exciting things are coming:In the past few days, I’ve been creating an image #NFT collection to launch a DAO that I’ve been conceptualizing for a while. So far, I got a few dozen original images ready to mint and made a Discord server with 2 subscription tiers. I mentioned a writers of web3 DAO on the blue checkmark platform, yet that isn’t this other DAO that is impelling me. Curious to know? I’d love to spill all those beans! Oh, though this is too soon! Too soon! It would be unduly hasty to disclose too much at this point; I can emphasize that the project excites and inspires me a lot. As a contributor to the Kift DAO on our Discord server, I devote at least a dozen hours weekly interacting, observing, contemplating, and noticing a lot of what is working and what evidently needs work. The rollout of Kift DAO is superb in some regards; I also see alternatives to decisions made early on that appeal more, hence the other DAO in progress. Hindsight is 20/20! Kiftable NFTs let us vote on proposals and grow the treasury; that is a great feature! With respect to the effort Kift DAO members are giving to add value there, I’d rather stick to the positives here and just demonstrate the critique by contrast, with a DAO of clearly-defined equity, attributed with an equivalent rate, for everyone from the start. There is almost infinite flexibility to what smart-contracts can do; equity-weighted voting lets people exchange capital for equity and vote in their economic interest. Often, workers end up paying the price for equity-weighted voting, in conventional corporate contracts; for this DAO in development, labor gets equity consideration that is similar to getting voting shares. The other party that is often fleeced is the user (e.g. you can’t charge that brand with my cord, so get your own!); users are more aligned with workers than capital-exploiters are with either, so user members of this germinating DAO also get equity from the start. The ideal DAO is owned and operated entirely by its members, and designed so that lower-income members get equity incentives that can help reduce economic disparity; redistributing equity in a DAO among all members, and starting without being beholden to investors seeking short-term returns has numerous advantages. My experience orients me aptly to create a DAO that empowers more communities to create together, without being beholden to big money traders at all. I’ve been repeating for years that we can do more by working together than by working against anyone else; to work against others is really to work against ourselves. I’ve long had a disappointed feeling when seeing competitive market inefficiencies everywhere. The devastation to ecosystems we all depend upon for life shows resource-inefficacy; big money traders cause a lot of that. It degrades if junk is made for profit and a variety of manipulative messages get others to buy things their innate creativity never wanted. One thing I’ve hoped for more years of this lifetime than anything else is that I survive to see cooperation overgrow competition; that is a metaphor for ecological economics, of course. Ecosystems include competition, yet mostly are cooperative and mutualistic. By synergistic, polyfunctional, ingenious natural design, ecosystems transmute inputs of liquids, solids, gases, energetic forces, and yield fecundity, which roughly translates to more capacity to transmute more inputs and become evermore fecund. They build upon themselves and create an increasingly abundant basis for life to flourish upon. Ecosystems are more cyclical than hierarchical. We humans are no less ecologically based than any other animal. From the guidance of ecosystems, we’ve realized the importance of societal synergy, and we adapted the forms of that ethos through the ages, eventually arriving at DAOs as the commons of mutualism in the phygital age. In case someone reading this is somehow unaware of DAOs yet, it means Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. The best DAOs are seen as ecosystems, realizing every member of society is better off when other members are better off; it goes exponential. If asked what a DAOtopia looks like? I’d say that a decentralized society does better by equal, equitable treatment of all involved, instead of some against some.Subscribehttps://embed.0xecho.com.ipns.page/?color-theme=dark&desc=Comment%20to%20cocreate%20and%20collect%20for%20equity%20in%20a%20writing%20DAO.&has-h-padding=true&has-v-padding=true&modules=comment&receiver=0x4dbc249cc12bb69dc4f2c1fdd0c68ff68de281f3&target_uri=dapp%2Fmirror%2FoN_WfwsaQZ7Uvl5NPVSHaLeopH-N_bn_D2Fu6__lgjc&height=800&display=iframe ## Publication Information - [Meta Novelist](https://paragraph.com/@meta-novelist/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@meta-novelist/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@meta-novelist): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/MetaNovelist): Follow on Twitter
