**Bored Ape Yacht Club**, often colloquially called **Bored Apes**, **Bored Ape** or **BAYC**, is a [non-fungible token](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-fungible_token) (NFT) collection built on the [Ethereum](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethereum) [blockchain](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockchain). The collection features [profile pictures](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avatar_\(computing\)) of cartoon apes that are [procedurally generated](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procedurally_generated) by an algorithm.
