# First NFT listed! **Published by:** [MetaverseHistorian](https://paragraph.com/@metaversehistorian/) **Published on:** 2021-10-17 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@metaversehistorian/first-nft-listed ## Content Just published a first NFT on OpenSea, The Metaverse Then and Now. It’s the pixelated version of a picture made in-world in the virtual world of Second Life. It's a picture of one of the oldest virtual objects, referred to as the The Man statue. The statue was made by the avatar oldjohn Linden in 2002. The maker of the picture had nothing to do with the creation of the statue and is not the owner of it. I also listed a second NFT, AI Enters Multi-User Dungeon. Screenshot of an AI-intervention. One of the earliest virtual environments were text-based such as MUDs1 (1978 by Richard Bartle and Roy Trubshaw). The text refers to the typical welcoming of the adventurer, asking for a name. The answer is generated by artificial intelligence as provided by ShortlyAI. The work shows how text-based world remain fascinating and can still evolve by using new AI-possibilities. In both cases I used Polygon in order to avoid the Ethereum-gasfees. ## Publication Information - [MetaverseHistorian](https://paragraph.com/@metaversehistorian/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@metaversehistorian/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@metaversehistorian): Subscribe to updates
