[1,000 True Fans](https://kk.org/thetechnium/1000-true-fans/)
=============================================================

Blog by Kevin Kelly.

Kevin Kelly states that you only need 1,000 true fans to make a living (not a fortune). He defines a fan as someone who loves you and will buy whatever product you sell. The only thing to this is that you must have direct contact with the fans, no intermediary, the reason for this is that in this way, you get to retain 100% of the money your fan is paying. Another point is that if you focus solely on your true fans, they will buy what you have to offer and bring other people to you. Focus on your true fans, and your creator business will grow.

By Sahil Bloom

When Sahil says, “Make the dash count,” he’s talking about the dash**”** between the day you were born and the day you died. The idea behind this is that a simple dash represents your life, all your dreams, experiences, pains, and sorrows—in fewer words, “your life.” The Dash holds everything.
