# Friend Tech

**The entire cryptocurrency Twitter is discussing Friend.Tech: supposedly the next 100x shitcoin, mainly because of the upcoming token and airdrop.**

**What is Friend Tech?**  
It's a brand new social media platform on Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2 BASE Ethereum, aka "SocialFi".

**🎯 The goal:** to allow communities to buy "shares" for people to subscribe.  
**🚀 Benefit:** access to exclusive private chat for shareholders only.

The person who subscribes decides what they want to share. Reminiscent of Patreon or Boosty, but for cryptoinfluencers.

 Friend Tech is currently only open by individual codes (Beta) and on hype in tight circles. It ranked an impressive 3rd in commission fees as a protocol in DeFi, just behind Ethereum and Lido and ahead of Uniswap, Tron and even #Bitcoin.  
  
**Concept**  
Very similar to a stock exchange, only here, you buy shares of people you subscribe to. Shares of influencers grow in value the more people buy them. For the first time, it was possible to virtually "invest" in people.

Early buyers can potentially make high profits by selling their shares later at a higher price. At least, that's the way it's supposed to work. That is, you can buy shares of me, for example, at 0.0001 ETH as an early investor and sell them when they are worth more, for example 0.01 ETH.

  
  
**My opinion**  
I find this idea interesting, but I am skeptical that it will really spread outside of the cryptocurrency bubble (Crypto Twitter, CT). One of the reasons for the hype: Influencers get a commission on every stock transaction. 
 How to participate?
 To participate, you need to transfer min $20 in ETH through the BASE network to the address allocated to you by the application (wallet).

 Go to the site through a browser, no app yet (if iPhone, Safari) and install the site as an app. There, will be instructions in the site description. 
  
  
**Thoughts**  
I hypothesize that social tokens could become the new "NFTs 2.0". "SocialFi" could be the next social media revolution. But be careful: cryptocurrencies are known for their "bubbles". Don't get carried away by the hype and always remain objective!
