A new coat of black paint everyday. What they don't know won't hurt them, I say. As I lie, steal and cheat with glee. You've got to compartmentalize. Break your self into tiny pill boxes. One black box for this lie. One black box for that half truth. One white box for my soul. Every black a glossy addition for my cloak. Was talking to a friend yesterday Got caught in a bald faced lie. As the friend looked on curiously, I dove into my head. Marie kondoing the lie boxes, one by one. Threw out box after black box of falsity Big heap, big wall. My wall of sin. Found the soul box. Looked back to talk to my friend. All I saw was that black cloaked figure staring. Down at me from atop my wall of lies. Down at my frail, naked, feeble soul. Down at that dot of white in a sea of black. ## Publication Information - [MisterFigs](https://paragraph.com/@misterfigs/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@misterfigs/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@misterfigs): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/MisterFigs): Follow on Twitter
