# Arbitrum Retroactive Airdrop

What is Arbitrum
----------------

The Arbitrum network is a layer-2 network, developed by the Offchain Labs based on New York. It is a technology known as “transaction rollups” which allows smart contacts to run on a separate layer while the platform leverages the security provided by the Ethereum mainnet. Airdrop
-------

Currently, Arbitrum doesn’t have a token. However, this is set to change, with a token rumored to be launching in Q4-2022 or Q1-2023. It is expected to be either `$ARB` or `$ARBI`. There is no confirmation about any airdrop yet. However, like most of the web3 projects, Arbitrum will reward their early users.

Eligibility Checklist
---------------------

*   Use mainnet bridge
    
*   Be active on mainnet
    
*   Use Arbitrum testnet
    
*   Arbitrum odyssey
    
*   Discord roles
    

### 1\. Use mainnet bridge

Bridge `$ETH` between Ethereum and Arbitrum. Especially use the [Arbitrum official bridge](http://bridge.arbitrum.io) to bridge `$ETH`. You can bridge any amount (however generally the more the better). There are other bridges like [Hop Finance](https://app.hop.exchange/#/send?token=ETH&sourceNetwork=ethereum&destNetwork=arbitrum), [Across](https://across.to/), etc. Try to use them.

### 2\. Be active on mainnet

Transactions on mainnet will surely be a key factor if there is an airdrop.

*   Transfer assets between wallets
    
*   Interact with dapps built on Arbitrum. ([List of dapps](https://portal.arbitrum.one/))
    
    Recommended dapps: _GMX_, _Stargate_, _Curve Finance_, _Uniswap_, _Aave_, _Radiant_
    
*   Use Stratos to mint and trade NFTs
    
*   Complete the [layer3.xyz](http://layer3.xyz/) bounties on Arbitrum Network

### 3\. Use Arbitrum testnet

Interact with Arbitrum testnet. Still there are projects on Arbitrum testnet. Interact with them (there is a chance of eligible for those airdrops too). Also build your dapps on testnet. [Learn more from here](https://developer.arbitrum.io/).

### 4\. Arbitrum odyssey

Arbitrum recently announced the odyssey campaign in collaboration with Ratwell, Sugoi, and Project Galaxy, to invite users to explore different parts of the Arbitrum ecosystem from bridging to Defi all the way to NFTs and gaming! But the campaign is paused during the second week due to the network congestion. However, with the launch of Arbitrum Nitro (a major network upgrade), it is expected to be resuming shortly.

### 5\. Discord roles

Join the Arbitrum [discord](https://discord.gg/arbitrum) server and join their [guild.xyz](https://guild.xyz/arbitrum) page and obtain the special roles in the server by completing small tasks. These tasks are easy to complete and may count towards the airdrop.
