Running a business requires a diverse group of people with various specialized skills. However, sometimes specialists can focus too much on perfection in one area, leading to neglect of other risks. For example, aiming for the absolute lowest price may compromise quality or operational delivery. Yet, paying slightly more than the lowest available price now could help to build our ability to recover from quality or operational issues in the future. As managers, our job is not to prevent risk completely.
