Can an independent implementation be achieved from a protocol specification alone?

We have been working on CPS-0001 — a specification for a Continuity Receipt designed to represent and verify the continuity of a digital entity rather than acting as a traditional identity document.

While we built a reference verifier and conformance tests internally, internal implementation doesn't prove independent interoperability.

To test this boundary, we are running an open challenge:

  • The Scope : CPS-0001 v1.0-RC1 (Apache 2.0).

  • The Rule : Implement a minimal receipt, construct the canonical signing payload, sign with Ed25519, and verify against conformance material— without using the MyShape SDK, source code, or runtime.

  • Why it matters : A successful independent implementation validates the specification. A reproducible failure highlights ambiguities we need to fix.

Full challenge details, implementation guides, and conformance vectors are linked in GitHub Discussion #15: https://github.com/myshapeprotocol/myshape-protocol/discussions/15
