# The Story of the NFT Logo > You've seen this logo everywhere, but do you know where it comes from ? **Published by:** [Nahiko's Bookmarks](https://paragraph.com/@nahiko/) **Published on:** 2024-07-11 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@nahiko/bookmarked-17 ## Content Welcome to Nahiko's Bookmarks, a careful curation of my favorite posts, straight to your inbox every Thursday !Today I'd like to try a new format for the newsletter. I'm offering you one deep dive in addition to my usual bookmarks, I hope you'll enjoy it ! Let me know if you do (I might not do a deep dive again if you don't !)The Story of the NFT logoThis story starts a few days ago, I was doomscrolling twitter for hours like every day, trying to find the best tweets for my beautiful subscribers (hard work ikr). And there it was, between an andrew tate tweet and ehm... workI swear that's how it happened...The famous NFT logoIf you are reading this, you have seen it. It's mathematical. It's been used everywhere, from Forbes to NBC News and even Creative Commons (yes yes, the same ones that created CC0). Reused, Modified, 3D-fied, etc. endlessly. To a point where I had never actually asked myself this simple question: Who created this logo ? And Why ? Well that day, I decided I wouldn't work on my 6-figure built-in-public project, in fact, I would not work on ANYTHING productive... until I had found the answer to that question. (I'm a little stubborn) Part I: Google SearchWhenever I'm looking for an image like that I just go for the plain simple Google Reverse Image search, it works wonders most of the time (It did when I needed it in my last investigation) A simple search returns the following resultsThis goes on for pages and pages, URGH ! I can't even sort by Date ! 😭 But I have a trick: CTRL+F heheNo result for 2020 :/But wait, there are results for 2019 !... and even 2018 !...and... 2017 ? hm that's a bit weird. The truth is, Google works in weird ways.Take this tweet as an example. It claims to be from 2017, yet the logo featured didn't even exist back then (you'll see what I mean shortly). How does Google still insist it was posted in 2017? Well not really, what this search says is: That page, originally created in 2017, now features the NFT logo. So we're back to square one... right ? Part II: Never gonna give you up !Well I'm not gonna give up here ! Let's trust Google did a good job (for once). How about we search for "logo" in here? Bingo! Was it that easy ? ... Ehhhh nevermind, that's not it lmao So I continue looking by date... until...Do you see it ? It's subtle. But there are 3 results in Japanese, 2 of which on Medium, weird. Let's dive in. I click, I scroll, and sure enough...Part III: NFTplusHere it is ! We found it ! hidden at the bottom of an obscure Medium article. And the coolest part? Both articles lead straight to one company: NFTplus. So who are these people, and what's NFTplus ?Turns out, they're a web3 gaming company, in fact you can see the MCH (My Crypto heroes) acronym in the second medium account (Kokushi MCH) Scroll a little further and we even get a download page for the logo ! It's written that Double Jump Tokyo are the people that created the famous NFT logo, in fact the initial medium articles provided a little more information: So that's it ! the NFT logo was created by a small web3 gaming company, just looking to help market their game. Who's the designer behind it? Is there more to this story? I'm sure @kokushi_oasys, @rmanzoku and @doublejump_en the three protagonists of this story have the answer to this question You can check Kokushi's article and Rmanzoku's article if you want to glimpse into history :) Well, that's it for us guys, I gotta say it was quite interesting to dive into this rabbit hole. I hope you guys equally enjoyed it. Please do share this as much as you can ! (Who's gonna pay my bills after I wasted a week searching for the NFT logo instead of working ?) As promised, this week my bookmarks are available only to my subscribers !
