Yes. How fucking mad is that? Like what the fuck is wrong with platforms? How is any of this "permanent" ? They didn't even use the standard ipfs://fileID at the time ! _(but rather a gateway link: https://ipfs.infura.io/ipfs/fileID)_ ![](https://storage.googleapis.com/papyrus_images/3b4db7257ba517894705f5c7ba2bb07e.png) Opensea Metadata Documentation So if Infura decides to take this link down, my NFT is **gone**. **Poof...** ![](https://storage.googleapis.com/papyrus_images/22e8f7ed9eecd99813d6fe2523e661eb.png) How do we fix it ? πŸ›  --------------------- Okay, so our aim is to replace every instance of **https://ipfs.infura.io/ipfs/fileID** with **ar://fileID** You would typically need to follow this very long guide (**but don't do it**): 1. [Download arkb from github](https://github.com/textury/arkb) 2. [Create an arweave wallet](https://arweave.app/) 3. [Bridge ETH to AR (Arweave)](https://app.permaswap.network/) to this new wallet 4. Get the private key for the wallet 5. Set it as the key to use for arkb 6. use the "**arkb deploy**" command to deploy our image on arweave 7. replace the infura link with our new arweave link inside the metadata 8. use the "**arkb deploy**" command to deploy the metadata on arweave 9. Call the setURI function with the new metadata (in my case it's [here](https://etherscan.io/address/0xfbeef911dc5821886e1dda71586d90ed28174b7d#writeContract#F3)) Remember you need to be the creator of the NFT in order to do this ... **You didn't read all that right ?** Yeah I figured.
