Zooms quickly past readers because I got no timeToday we talk about Royalties !The Royalties DebateThere's been a lot of debate on royalties: Pablo @pablorfraile Royalties are a tax They also bring negative incentives—especially on the artist side They can discourage secondary market sales and distort motivations Change my mind! 22 5:19 • 24 Sept 2024 so I wanted to share some data from an artist perspective. The DataAs an artist with 3 big projects, I earned good royalties in 2022. Guess what happened early 2023 ? (hint: it starts with opensea and ends with no royalties) I have 3 major projects: Entropy: Sep 2022TPIAR: Jan 2023Bit Rot: Nov 2023Bit Rot earned nearly double the revenue but 10x fewer royalties. What's next ?Where does that lead us?Royalties don't really exist anymore (for Editions)They are considered "tax" by many collectors my decision is clear.
