This part of the article came from reading several documents. Then I summarize them and share here.Optimism doesn't just make chains, but wants to create a real decentralized infrastructure by scaling Ethereum. Therefore, doing something good with ETH might involve Optimism and could potentially fall under retroPGF as well. In the future, Optimism and other L2 could become the foundation of the digital world's systems.For example, what the optimistic vision can make real is like how Thai people can easily transfer money using centralized mobile banking from banks. We find it convenient. However, it's not so convenient worldwide. With optimism, people around the world can conveniently transfer digital money too. In the future, when we visit Japan, we won't need to exchange money at the bank, but we can simply swap it. Once in Japan, we can pay by scanning just like when we are in Thailand.We can also have quality social media on the blockchain with OP as well.For a grand vision like this, the OP team doesn't want to tackle it alone but rather invites as many people as possible to help. Hence, Impact equals Profit.And a truly serious government system.Aside from the good code part, I like the government section a lot. You can see that the illustration is of a city. What the community is doing is like creating a new democracy country.Rules are being drafted collaboratively, and participants can receive retroPGF.Whoever is delegated 0.25% of the OP will help choose which projects to push into the assembly (like MPs chosen by the people).There are appointed citizens (a role, not an ordinary user). Citizens will determine who gets how much retroPGF.There is a grant council that decides what projects they want to occur.There is a foundation that will gradually decrease in importance to decentralize.There is a list of tasks they want people to do.And anyone who wants to make public goods can propose to receive funding.Being a fresh new country, many tasks are still drafting rules, creating work standards, and making tools for contributors to work easily.There may be other L2 or projects trying to decentralize as well, but as far as I know, OP is the most dedicated and clear.
