**Why Proof Summer?**

Are proofs ready for the spotlight? Why haven’t they broken out of their bubble yet?

Proofs are quietly transforming block infra and applications, everything from defi to gaming, social networks, and personal identity. They're behind the scenes and yet visible to end users.

This summer, we're changing that. We're setting up a show to spotlight proof based technology and everyone's invited to participate.

We want builders of innovative proof-based experiences and curious on-chain users to come together, explore, and have a blast. Let’s make the decentralized internet more vibrant and creative together!

**WTF is NEBRA and NEBRA UPA?**

[NEBRA](https://www.nebra.one/) is a research and community driven project focused on creating a proof-based future, known as proof singularity.

Our first product, NEBRA UPA, supercharges Ethereum’s proof processing capabilities by over 10x. Think of it like upgrading from dial-up internet to fiber broadband:

*   **10x More Proof Processing Power**: Now, an average Ethereum block can handle 750 proofs instead of just 75.
    
*   **10x Lower Gas Costs**: The cost of putting a proof on Ethereum mainnet drops from $20 to $2, and from $2 to $0.20 on L2.
    

And the best part? NEBRA UPA achieves this without compromising decentralization or adding any trust assumptions, thanks to the power of recursive zkSNARKs.

In short, NEBRA UPA is an huge unlock for the entire ZK space.

In this summer, we will launch NEBRA UPA mainnet, with the following sequence:

*   Stage 0: NEBRA UPA Testnet (already running on Sepolia since March, 2024)
    
*   Stage 1: Publish audit reports from Zellic and ABDK
    
*   Stage 2: Open source NEBRA code base and publish UPA benchmark result
    
*   Stage 3: Mainnet launch!
