*   The Paralympics is a major international sports event where athletes with disabilities compete. It takes place every four years, just like the Olympics and includes sports adapted for athletes with physical, vision, or intellectual impairments.

*   The Paralympics promote inclusion and showcase the incredible abilities of these athletes. There are both Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, featuring sports like wheelchair basketball, para-swimming, and para-skiing. Prosthetic devices and wheelchair adaptions are often used in this sports to help empower some of the participants.

**Events in the 2024 Paralympics**

*   The 2024 Summer Paralympics will also be held in Paris, France, following the Olympics. The games are scheduled from **August 28 to September 8, 2024**.
