# Asian cinema

[West Asian cinema](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Asian_cinema) is sometimes classified as part of [Middle Eastern](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinema_of_the_Middle_East) cinema, along with the [cinema of Egypt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinema_of_Egypt). The [cinema of Central Asia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinema_of_Central_Asia) is often grouped with the Middle East or, in the past, the [cinema of the Soviet Union](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinema_of_the_Soviet_Union) during the [Soviet Central Asia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_Central_Asia) era. [North Asia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Asia) is dominated by [Siberian](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siberia) [Russian cinema](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinema_of_Russia), and is thus considered part of [European cinema](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_cinema).
