Video games draw their appeal from two main sources: mental challenge (strategic thinking) and physical skills (reflexes and coordination). However, gaming platforms and the mode of interaction have remain largely unchanged for decades - limited to PCs, phones, and consoles - creating a ceiling for gameplay innovation. As a result, most advances now focus on visual improvements, pushing games to near-photorealistic levels.
Sure, it's amusing when your nanny mistakes your Battlefield session for actual war footage and starts praying for world peace, but we are now very close to reaching the peak of visual realism. After all, once something looks exactly like reality, where else can you go?
But now, with the advent of LLMs, it is possible to turn your words into prompts and then into game inputs, which opens a whole new genre of games. To paint a clearer picture, you can now turn your words into stories and actions!
Gabby World is an innovative Dungeons and Dragons-like game that does the above. But unlike traditional Dungeons and Dragons games, user can choose to unleash their lingustic skills and imaginations by creating lores and challenges (You don’t have to create everything, simply write a prompt and let AI do its magic). Of course, you can also choose to solve others’ challenges, but in infinite ways. The only limit is your imagination and creativity.
When you start off, you will be given 20 ability points to allocate among the following:
Health Point (HP)
Damage (DMG)
Defence (DEF)
Strength (STR)
Dexteriy (DEX)
Intelligence (INT)
Charisma (CHA)
Just like any other DnD games, choose wisely because it will greatly affect the way you interact with the world - including which lands to explore, which NPCs to fight and so many more!
Case Study - Avoiding the Deadly Sniper Donald Trump (?)
In Gabby World, even the wildest of your fantasies and fetishes can be satisfied. For example you find yourself trying to avoid the deadly aim of the famous sniper Donald Trump in the following scenario. The “adventure” is divided into a number of chapters and within each chapter, there is a plot and a challenge.
The challenge is where you unleash your creativity to create the most powerful prompt based on your attributes and your enemy’s attributes. (Or simply pick from a list of actions if you are feeling lucky)

The outcome is determined by having your chapter and the NPC each roll a 20-sided dice, and then adding on to that the relevant ability scores. There is a minimum number that you have to exceed when rolling the dice to win. This specific number is generated using AI and is affected by the interplay between the settings of the challenge, the attributes of the NPC and that of your character.(Just like DnD, Salute!). Hence, players will have to crack their brain to figure out what is the best way of allocating their attribute points, what kind of challenges and what kind of strategy and what kind of wording will be optimal for their character settings, while creators will seek to up the ante by introducing new monsters, new limitations, etc. in their prompts.
By using such creative and cutting-edge game mechanics, Gabby World seeks to create an complex and dynamic competitive environment between creators and players. Unlike traditional games that are scripted and hence always has an end to it, there is no ending in Gabby World. Here’s to Endless Adventures, Endless Challenges, Endless Possibilities, Endless Fun!
