# The Status of Knowledge Workers **Published by:** [october91](https://paragraph.com/@october91/) **Published on:** 2024-05-31 **Categories:** social **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@october91/the-status-of-knowledge-workers ## Content According to common belief, philosophy is the queen of sciences. But to get rid of a kidney stone, you'll need a urologist, not a philosopher. Knowledge workers can perform their tasks as long as there is an organization where they can do so. In other words, they are dependent. However, they also possess the "means of production"—their knowledge. A knowledge worker may realize that they depend on the organization that ensures their material well-being and provides access to various opportunities. Yet, it is equally fair for them to recognize that the organization depends on them to the same extent. No knowledge holds a higher "status" than others. Each person's position in the organization is determined by their contribution to the overall task. TIP OF THE DAY Think about how to use your knowledge to benefit the organization maximally. Discuss your ideas with your boss and colleagues. ## Publication Information - [october91](https://paragraph.com/@october91/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@october91/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@october91): Subscribe to updates ## Optional - [Collect as NFT](https://paragraph.com/@october91/the-status-of-knowledge-workers): Support the author by collecting this post - [View Collectors](https://paragraph.com/@october91/the-status-of-knowledge-workers/collectors): See who has collected this post
