RReality didn’t collapse. It shifted.

Not enough to trigger alarms, and not enough for anyone important to call it a crisis. The world still looks the same. Cement holds, glass keeps reflecting tired smiles and forests grow where they always have, clinging to the same dirt, indifferent to who's hiding in them.

The markets opened the next morning, traffic kept on moving, and elections continued to be held. History carried on pretending it was uninterrupted, while in the margins, the laws of physics began to drift.

It created places where emotion carries weight.  
Where proximity changes more than distance.  
Where the body doesn’t quite obey the limits it’s supposed to have.  
Where death isn’t always as final as it used to be.

None of it announced itself. No broadcast was held, official records weren’t kept, and only small deviations surfaced, easy to dismiss at first as statistical noise. Then patterns appeared that were harder to ignore for those who were looking.

Institutions adapted quietly without admitting it, and policies appeared that addressed things no one ever described out loud.

Most people never see it.

But those who do learn quickly that naming it doesn’t help.

The rules feel older than memory, but they aren’t written anywhere. They’re followed without being explained and broken without anyone fully understanding how.

Some people ignore the cracks. Others learn how to use them. And a few build entire lives in the space between what’s said and what’s real.

And then there are those who don’t get the luxury to theorize about it.

We take the strain and deal with the situation as it unfolds.

And if we’re careful—

We live long enough to notice where it gives way next.
