MEME MIGRATION
The Counterparty meme era has become nomadic: layered collections, Uniswap v4 hooks, and RWA-linked pools on ยตTokenPro.
by Normancomics.eth(@KEKBONDS)
Rare Pepe Scientist and Counterparty legend Joe Looney said it loud enough that it still cuts through every gimmicky โbig-timeโ NFT marketplace slogan since 2016:
โThe token is the art.โ

Not โright-click-saveโ the .jpg. The scarce unit on a ledger, with a legend attached: who issued it, when, how many exist, whether anyone can inflate it, and whether the picture can one day get up and walk away from the name.
He did not invent the sentence in a vacuum. In July 2014 Rhea Myers published Is Art / โThis Contract Is Artโ: the contract itself as the work. That September Nili Lerner announced NILIcoins on Bitcointalk (@bitcointalk): issuance, name, supply, and the rules sitting on Bitcoin. Jason Bailey later packaged the window as โ2014-2016: The Token is the Art.โ Looneyโs line stuck because Rare Pepe Wallet made the idea usable. You could hold the scarce unit, see the card, and trade it without a TED talk. Wallet plus directory plus lock flag beat a gallery PDF.
Fellow blockchain asset appreciator Van (@vangoyaa) said the same thing from the other school. In his May 2026 essay on X, he wrote that you can save the file and still miss the work. Provenance is the medium. Every owner, every timestamp, every issuance rule is part of the object. Museums and auction houses spent years collecting that object while the timeline said NFTs were dead. Van was talking about the property system, not a corny PFP floor.

That grammar is what I grew up on. Counterparty issuance is not a, โvibe..โYou pick a name, a quantity, divisible or not. You write a description (often just a URL to the picture). You can mint more, change the text, transfer issuer rights, or spin subassets until you lock. Lock is irreversible: no more supply. Description lock is a later, separate flag. Rare Pepe โofficialโ was extra-protocol. Scientists voted a pairing into the directory. Burn-to-submit was culture sitting on top of those flags. The JPEG could move. The named, flagged asset could not pretend it was infinite.
An early book that locked this in for me was Camila Russoโs The Infinite Machine (2020). Ethereum as a world computer. Code as law. A machine that can keep a frame on forever. I was already a Bitcoin / XCP cartoonist. That book made the other half click. v4 hooks are that idea grown up: the pool can refuse a snipe, refuse a rug, refuse extra issuance. Same religion I learned locking KEKBONDS. Different cathedral.

Uniswap v4 is the same job with different verbs. A poolโs identity includes its hook address at initialize. That address does not get swapped later. Which callbacks fire is baked into the hook address bits. beforeSwap caps a buy. beforeRemoveLiquidity is where โno one pulls the LPโ lives. Graduation burning the LP NFT is an app rule on top of v4, not a Uniswap primitive.

Before @KEKBONDS there was @NORMANCOMICS. Pre-Musk Twitter nuked that page in late 2020 / early 2021 when it had 10k+ followers, for a dark-humor joke reply the โold regimeโ deemed too-sensitive. No appeal. NO REAL appeal at all. Just a circle-jerk of, numerous โClick-HERE, so NO one can respond to you everโ bot-powered email-return links. NORMANCOMICS as a domain on Twitter may have been 86โd,ย so, like a memetic-phoenix rising from the digital social-Fi-ashes, @KEKBONDS was created, March 10, 2021. The joke-twin was, โN0RMANC0MICSโ with zeros. A homoglyphic-kek-powered-masterpiece. The $XCP names did not move. Neither did any of the creative & equally destructive enigmatic energy. The new room for loyalists is @uNORMANCOMICS / $uNRMN. ENS stays normancomics.eth.
Same hands: cartoonist of the-comic-strip, Normanยฎ, author of, โIatrogenic,โ later, solo-founder/engineer of BibleFi on Base. Creator & President of @thegoodlums, a post-apocalyptic internet gang stamped in metadata, and lovingly hidden within the layers. @CSFWTF is Counterfeit Superfakes (open-invite dated March 18, 2022): burn a DISINFOCZARD to submit. nfterrorist.eth / @Nfterrorist_ is the .jpg jihadist lane. @JOINKEKFORCE / KEKFORCE is the Fake Rare card and the KEKFORCE-name, which orders are simpleโฆ enlist. Pages are rumor. The art is the named unit.

A Counterparty dispenser is a vending machine on Bitcoin (CIP-21). Escrow cards at an address. Set a satoshi rate. Anyone who sends that much BTC gets the give-quantity. No BTCPay. No marketplace admin. That is how KEKBONDS left the building. One dispenser, 2023-09-04: 1 KEKBONDS for 0.05 BTC, 2 in escrow. Send $BTC. Protocol vends the bond. Official bit: holders get 10,000 FREEMONEYS a quarter-plus airdrops. Joke yield. Real flags.ย Ask any REAL KEKBONDS hodlโrs, and theyโll tell you the same.

KEKBONDS started at 100 and was burned toward 33 on purpose. DISINFOCZARD was the CSF burn ticket. FREEMONEYS / FAKEMONEYS was play-money you spent to get propaganda into the directory. NORMANCARD was the Season 1 rookie. PEPIOKEK (69) hung at Superchief NYC. FLOONEYBIN.NORMANCOMICS is a locked subasset (70). The rest of the normancomics.eth $XCP pile is the same grammar with different jokes, including but not limited to:

Stamps are the second church. Bitcoin Stamps / SRC-20 put data in UTXOs so nodes cannot prune the picture. Early SRC-20 rode Counterparty issuances. After block 796,000 the spec moved to raw BTC. These three are Norman ticks, listed as numeric assets because that is how the indexer names them:

BTCEBT (SRC-20): A1210467077000282492
NRMNPEPECASH (SRC-20): A1281085847249306132
NRMNCOMICS69420 (SRC-20): A17023663791149332840
XCP cards: named, flagged, dispensed, burned, locked. Stamps: pixels that refuse to leave the UTXO set. $uNRMN: the same cartoon on a v4 hook. Three storage rooms. One author.

When I sold the whole Counterparty wallet for funeral money, the UTXOs moved. Arwyn has the cards. The grammar did not sell. $uNRMN is Norman on a chain that never asked for him.
Fake Rare Directory after the Scientists closed the book. Burn FAKEASF to submit. Directory as museum. Wallet as gallery. Dispenser as shop window. I minted frogs and propaganda and newspaper strips on Bitcoin because that is where the object lived. Then the wallet had to go. Fast cash for a funeral. I have not sold a BTC asset since. I will be back when I can buy the collection home.
ยตTokenPro on Robinhood Chain felt like opening Rare Pepe Wallet again: one call deploys the token, the v4 hook, and a live market. File in the contract or generated in the contract. Curve first, then a pool you cannot rug by pulling LP. That is why I put Norman there. As $unRMN

No pieces exist at launch. A buy mints one item per whole token you receive. Leftover fractions do not mint. Tokens received by transfer do not mint. Metadata coming soon.
That rising cap is the anti-snipe. A sniper wants block one. ยตToken does not leave that to manners. Docs and @uTokenPro: max buy and max wallet start small (default 0.25% of supply, settable 0.01% to 0.5%) and rise every second after trading opens. Advanced fair distribution adds a hard hold cap. Optional delay up to seven days. Creator allocation capped at 1% and bought off the curve at launch. That is before Swap on the hook. Same job as locking an $XCP card. Same job as a dispenser whose price is a satoshi rate instead of a tweet.

Do not confuse the gates. Cap and wallet limit stop the vacuum. Whole-unit minting stops a washed bag from printing extra cards. Sells burn items newest-first. LP burn at graduation stops the issuer from pulling the market. Three sockets. Same refusal to let scarcity be a Discord promise.
What people build with that socket: dynamic fees, limit orders, auto-compounding, launchpad curves, creator fee splits, anti-snipe (beforeSwap caps that start small and rise by the second), โno extra LP after the factory seeds the pool,โ and before Remove Liquidity saying no one may withdraw this LP.
$uNRMN is that sentence, on-chain, now living on a chain that did not expect NORMAN to show up in the first place.
