# Happy B-day B!

Yesterday was Bitcoin's birthday and naturally, as FirstBatch we celebrated the event too; [https://lnkd.in/dXuYBgHM](https://lnkd.in/dXuYBgHM)

There is somewhat of a small elephant in the room that I'd like to address; when we were discussing our tweet it sort of got political. Martin Luther is a safe choice (Say; on a scale of Gandhi to a very well-known dictator he is a safer choice, less controversial if you will) thus we didn't think too much of it.

Here's my little elephant: Brands can and should be political. Slapping on a "Happy Birthday Bitcoin 🎉" post seems lazy to me, even bland like diet crackers. No flavour, no flair.

Whereas if you are setting your course to be a decentralized protocol that contradicts monopolies and emphasizes on anonymity and personalization with ZK I think you have some wiggle room to be political. This is how FirstBatch sees the world, this is our perception and we're okay with getting that message across.

That's why I'm really glad to be in an environment that not only promotes free speech but also allows us to express our true identities through our content.
