# Omar Afra

> Omar Afra is a Houston-based writer, cultural producer, and entrepreneur working at the intersection of music, technology, and media. Afra is the founder of the internationally recognized Day for Night festival, a pioneering art and music event that brought together experimental electronic music, immersive visual installations, and new media artists from around the world.
Today, Omar Afra writes essays and cultural commentary exploring live music, technology, media systems, and the political economy of culture. His work often examines how digital platforms, ticketing systems, and media institutions shape the experience of art and public life.
