# Base Testnet (Powered by Coinbase)

You must have heard of Base testnet on Twitter before. Base airdrop bla bla bla. It is not confirmed that they are going to make an airdrop but we are testing platforms and networks so that we can get potential airdrops. Here I will tell you how to complete steps on this testnet.

Base is an L2 that offers developers a very easy, secure way to build decentralized applications for the next bn users because of its security and low cost. Base built on the open-source OP Stack.

Let’s start.

Install Base Network

Go to: [https://chainlist.org/chain/84531](https://chainlist.org/chain/84531)

Connect wallet and Add to Metamask.

Get some goerli ETH from one of these faucets:

Go to [https://bridge.base.org/deposit](https://bridge.base.org/deposit)

Send ETH from Goerli to Base

You can also use Layer3 quest and coinbase faucet if it is difficult for you to bridge.

After a while, you will have ETH on Base wallet.

Read it carefully and complete it. Copy the contract hash. Paste it into the Base Quest.

Now we can deploy contract.

Connect your wallet.

Click Deploy now button.

Fill in the Name and Symbol.
