**The Basics** of Open Work Lab:

*   🟦 Ownership is distributed across all members, not concentrated at the top
    
*   **🟥** Decisions are made by all members via voting
    
*   🟨 Content is contributed by validated, proven experts and includes enough detail to replicate
    
*   **🟩** Members are compensated for their participation
    

**The Details**:

*   🟨 OWL is controlled by “Smart Contracts” - just like a handshake or legal document, but all digital and without pricey 3rd party intermediaries.
    
*   🟦 Everyone (yes everyone!) is a partial owner. Levels of ownership vary based on on members participate and contribute.
    
*   **🟧** Ownership is in the form of an NFT (like that crazy artwork you’ve seen on Twitter). Smart Contracts govern how you earn or buy NFTs.
    
*   **🟥** The community of members create and amend the contracts, so they can change by simply voting (not the whim of the CEO!)

Open Work Lab and almost all Web3 communities issue NFTs and/or tokens for members to invest in the community. We will be issuing these soon and of course, you can buy tokens on the secondary market.

**Earn a NFT/token**

Community members can and should also be rewarded for active contributions to the community. This is the novelty of web3 — you are incentivized to actively contribute to the community.
