# Announcing the melon: By [Parker McKee](https://paragraph.com/@parker-mckee) · 2022-04-06 --- Today, we’re excited to announce [the melon](https://themelon.xyz/) along with a group of experienced builders in crypto, web3, and consumer networks. the melon is a web3 foundry designed to bring together founders, developers, and leaders in the industry to develop and test ideas and launch new web3 projects. the melon team has never been more convinced that web3 will catalyze new ideas and will re-platform the networks we know today, yet it’s still incredibly hard for many builders to make the jump into the space. Coming up to speed in web3 requires new skills around tokenomics, legal structures, governance, community growth, cryptography, and decentralization. A group of 22 founding advisors from leading web3 protocols and consumer networks will provide guidance to founders, and help to generate new ideas for projects. As part of the melon, we’ll help founders and developers explore, prototype, and ship MVPs while leveraging our talent network to bring in leaders across product, engineering, growth and marketing. the melon team will also share our experience navigating tokenomics, legal structures, and governance, while turning to leading experts to share their perspectives.\*\* \*\*Some of the projects we’ll work on will emerge from our team and our advisors; we welcome others to join us to bring these ideas to life.
