# Why I want to write *Making sense of why writing can help me as an entrepreneur and polymath* By [Path Forward](https://paragraph.com/@pathforward) ยท 2023-10-11 --- Convoluted journeys need a map. I want to write so I can create one, for myself, and for people around me. Writing for clarity =================== A practice of writing helps create clarity. I want to harness that clarity, as my path and my startup are both complex in nature. This can be helpful both for myself and for people around me. Clarity for yourself -------------------- Gaining perspective can come through translating thoughts into words. This can help get a better grasp of _what you feel_ and convert it into _something you think_. This difference its the first step towards action. Clarity for your stakeholders ----------------------------- Clarity is essential if you want buy-in from people who can help you build and make sense of what you are building. To build your vision you need to practice how you communicate it. Making sense of what works and what needs to be better explained can all come through writing. And different stakeholders will need different levels of explanation, as some will have deeper context than others, as well as different goals. Writing for Content =================== We live in the _age of content_. It's not only enough to do something, people need to find out about it in order to care. That's where content plays a critical role. Finding the right topics to further explain or the ones that resonate with a wider audience is something that comes through practice. Building in public ================== Documenting my journey as an entrepreneur is something I've always wanted to do.
