# Experience the difference with Dill Network

Dill is addressing similar groundbreaking issues by concentrating on fundamental protocol enhancements and improving user experiences. They already introduced a two-tier staking model comprising full validator nodes and light validator nodes. The light validator nodes require less staking capital and can operate on less powerful machines, thereby significantly reducing barriers for individual stakers and fostering greater participation in validation. This system has been coded and is currently operational on Dill’s incentivized testnet; you can learn more and get involved at

Moreover, both the full validator and light validator nodes in Dill actively participate in consensus and attestation processes, which helps mitigate potential risks of centralization, as well as threats related to collusion and attacks that can arise from the random sampling method used for light node attestations.

You can also read more about how to run a light validator and full validator [here](https://github.com/DillLabs/launch-dill-node). It's very simple and straightforward

In addition to their voting functionality, our incentivized light validator nodes also handle Data Availability Sampling (DAS), which is crucial for ensuring data availability and facilitating continuous scalability improvements. This encourages solo stakers to maintain their light validator nodes continually, thus enhancing overall network security.

**What implications does this hold for chains and rollups built upon Dill?**

1. Economic finality is achieved much faster without sacrificing decentralization, decreasing from about 15 minutes (2 epochs) to merely 12 seconds (1 slot). This means users can recognize transaction finality almost immediately after confirmation.

2. A more streamlined core protocol along with simplified supporting infrastructure.

3. A scalable, decentralized, and secure data availability network.

Thanks to the Gasper consensus algorithm, the chain remains operational and can eventually recover even if over one-third of the validators go offline, effectively addressing the inactivity leaks issue.

Having operated and run a light validator, I appreciate the performance of the Dill Network. Something that really changes the future of blockchain, making the process simple and easy to understand. Hopefully one day soon Dill can open source the code
