I built (burnt) a thing!!
I've been wanting to get my hands dirty with Claude code for a while. What came out of a week of tinkering is Chili Mode - a "menu bar Mac app" that lets you burn your windows closed instead of just clicking that sad red dot.
The idea came from something that genuinely bothers me. I have 12 hours of screen time most days. If I'm going to live this much of my life on a computer, the least it can do is be a little fun. And there's something weirdly unsatisfying about closing a window after finishing something: you worked on it, you're done, and your Mac just removes it.
Chili Mode makes everything spicier: you close the window, it burns while playing a satisfying crackling fire sound. There's also something freeing about it. Reminds me of this one time my friend and I wrote love letters to our crushes at 16 and burned them to find closure. Yes, it worked. Highly recommend.

The current release includes a free version and a premium version that includes 5 burn skins and 10 colour combinations (see below). If you go premium, you're also supporting someone who just became a newly baked developer. đŸŒ¶
